ROONEY Rock: Rooney is a five piece band of Los Angeles natives that formed in late 1999. After self-releasing two 5 song EPs and establishing a loyal following around the L.A. area, the band signed with Geffen Records in 2002. The band recorded their first full-length album with producer Keith Forsey (Billy Idol, Simple Minds) and proceeded to tour relentlessly for the following two years. The first album yielded two successful singles (I’m Shakin’, Blueside) and was followed up with the DVD release “Spit and Sweat.” The sophomore album was released in the summer of 2007 and features the melodic songwriting and dynamic playing and harmonizing the band is known for. The first single (When Did Your Heart Go Missing?) peaked at number eight on the VH1 countdown and spawned a top 10 radio hit all across Europe where three more singles were released. HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS Alternative Pop/Emo: The emo-pop quintet Hawthorne Heights came to life in the summer of 2001. They built their fan base on a solid demo recording and a series of self-booked national tours that saw them sharing the stage with the likes of From Autumn to Ashes and The Descendents. In 2004 they released their powerful full-length debut, "The Silence in Black and White." As the bandmates relentlessly toured behind it, the album became Victory's highest-selling debut, while its lead single, "Ohio Is for Lovers," slowly invaded rock radio, MTV, and teenage hearts across the country. During legal disputes with Victory Records Hawthorne Heights continued touring nationwide and served as headliners on the fall 2006 version of the popular Nintendo Fusion Tour with openers Relient K, The Sleeping, and more. On the road in late 2007, guitarist Casey Calvert died in his sleep. Rehab with Almost Kings & Soul Stash Hit Single "SITTIN' AT A BAR" Rap Rock/Southern Rap: The Southern hip-hop duo called Rehab were literally a product of their namesake. Original members Danny Boone and Brooks Buford, both recovering alcoholics and drug addicts, met at a local rehab facility and connected over their love of music. Mashing rap with rock, the duo released their debut album, "Southern Discomfort," in 2000 on the Sony label. Cee-Lo, Goodie Mob, and Cody ChesnuTT were some of the guests on the album, which would spawn the Top 15 modern rock hit "It Don't Matter." Two years were spent on the road supporting the album, including a stint on the Vans Warped Tour, and then the duo splintered. Boone retained the name and recruited four veteran musicians for a new Rehab. Now a quintet with Boone as the lone singer/rapper — and also using his birth name, Danny Alexander — Rehab signed with Arshid Entertainment and released the ambitious Graffiti the World in 2005. Over the next few years, a cut from their debut album, "Sittin' at a Bar," would turn into a jukebox favorite. The Epic label got wise, re-released their debut album and renamed it Sittin' at a Bar, all without the band's permission. To fight this unauthorized reissue the band re-recorded its now famous drinking song and renamed it "Bartender Song." Energizer Presents: ROCK A THON 2009 Starts 12:05 AM Black Friday, Nov. 26 Ends 6:00 PM Monday, Nov. 30 What do an bunny, global megahit Rock Band®, four sleepless days and Texas Children’s Hospital have in common? They are all tied to an incredible charity event this Thanksgiving – The Rock-A-Thon – that will bring joy to thousands of children worldwide. The Rock-A-Thon brings together some of the most passionate and well-known players of the cultural phenomenon Rock Band together for four days of nonstop playing to raise money for children’s charity Child’s Play. MARCY PLAYGROUND Alt/Rock: Marcy Playground released their self-titled debut in February of 1997. Several months after the album's original release, rock radio picked up on the group's single "Sex and Candy" (comparable to Nirvana's more tranquil moments), which pushed the album up the U.S. charts and, eventually, platinum certification. The trio began work on its second full-length, trying to avoid the dreaded sophomore jinx that so many other rock bands have fallen prey to after scoring an inaugural hit. Marcy Playground proved ultimately susceptible to the aforementioned "curse," as the resulting album, 1999's Shapeshifter, was widely panned by critics and sank from sight shortly after its release. Friday The 13th Slaughterfest Featuring: ENSIFERUM Metal: Ensiferum was formed by Guitarist Markus Toivonen in 1995. Markus discovered the word "Ensiferum" in a latin dictionary when looking for a band name, the word and meaning was perfect for the band he aimed to create. The band recorded their debut album in November 2000. The album was released in July receiving tremendous feedback. To record "Iron" Ensiferum travelled all the way to Copenhagen's Sweet Silence studios in the summer of 2003. The band did this for the famed producer Flemming Rasmussen, who has in the past recorded and produced such albums as Metallica's "Master of Puppets" and "Ride the Lightning". "Iron" was then recorded, produced and mixed by him. Ensiferum then went on to record the 2006 EP "Dragonheads" with new vocalist Petri Lindroos of Norther. The first Live DVD was released in the summer of 2006, having been recorded on the band's 10th Anniversary (December 31st 2005) "Victory Songs" was released on Spinefarm Records in April 2007. MUMIY TROLL Rock/Pop: Mumiy Troll (pronounced Moo-me Troll) is undoubtedly the most significant, in fact the one and only band which modern Russia produced since the fall of the Soviet regime. They have really made their mark with startling albums and live performances that are bursting with energy, combining warmth with total debauchery. Mumiy Troll is not a one-man band — the 4 people on stage have been together for the last 10 years. Yuri Tsaler, one of the most admirable guitarists in the country, is also the co-author of some of the songs. Oleg Pungin began his drumming career at the age of 7 and is still delivering the strongest pumping beats as he helps to record a good half of all records in Russia. JOHN LEE HOOKER JR. Blues: John Lee Hooker Jr is a blues musician, born in 1952 in Detroit. He is the son of the late John Lee Hooker. The younger Hooker's musical style is markedly modernized, featuring contemporary arrangements. In 2008 Hooker toured with a back-up band consisting of George Lacson (Bass), Jeff Horan (Guitar), Mike Rogers (Drums), and Brian James (Keys). HIT THE LIGHTS Pop/Punk: Hit the Lights originated in Lima, Ohio and consists of members Nick, Omar, Nate, Kevin, and Dave. Hit The Lights plays pop-punk. Contrary to the popular belief that they got their name from the Metallica song, the band got their name from the 80’s skateboarding film, “Gleaming the Cube”. After signing to Triple Crown Records in 2005 their debut EP, ‘Until We Get Caught,’ generated lots of buzz within webzines and websites such as AbsolutePunk and Myspace. The band’s debut full-length “This is a Stick Up…Don’t Make it a Murder” was released on April 11, 2006. The band has continually toured since the release of their album playing at Bamboozle left and Warped Tour in 2006. In June 2007, Colin announced he was leaving the band. The band has recently announced that Nick will be the new lead singer. With a new guitarist accompanying them on tour. THURSDAY Post Hardcore/ Rock: Thursday have always been difficult to categorize. Over their eleven-year career they’ve toured with everyone from the Cure to Cursive, but have retained an inherent aggressiveness that can only come from being weaned on similarly independent nineties acts like Ink And Dagger and Lifetime. When Thursday-singer Geoff Rickly, guitarists Tom Keeley and Steve Pedulla, bassist Tim Payne, drummer Tucker Rule and keyboardist Andrew Everding- delivered the genre-defining Full Collapse, Alternative Press called 2001 “The Year Punk Broke Again.” SPIN christened the band the “The Next Big Thing” featuring Rickly on its cover in 2004. Thursday’s major-label debut, War All The Time, was a commercial success - but, ultimately, Thursday abandoned that route. Instead, they became something far more impressive in today’s musical climate: A band that eschewed gimmicks, instead forging a unique, organic and evolving sound more lasting than trend. The New York Times concluded, “They may not be rock stars, but by a kind of critical consensus they have emerged as the standard-bearers for their sound, the band considered most likely to survive the vagaries of rock trend-hopping.”

STRUNG OUT Strung Out is a punk rock band from Simi Valley, California, formed in 1992. They are known mainly for their musical style, which fuses aspects of punk rock and metal to form their primary sound. They have released nine albums on Fat Wreck Chords and appeared on numerous compilations and skate/surf videos. They have played on the Warped Tour and continue to tour internationally. In March 2009, Strung Out released a compilation of B-sides, demos, and covers called “Prototypes and Painkillers” with material from all eras of the band’s history. PSYCLON NINE/ IMPERATIVE REACTION Industrial In 2003, Psyclon Nine released their first album Divine Infekt, on Noitekk. The debut album gained the band popularity very quickly with its extremely fast paced music and lyrics. For 2005, the band released its first U.S. album after signing with Metropolis Records. The album, INRI, featured thirteen tracks of dark, aggressive electro focused on religious themes. Not an album for the faint of heart, it was an all out assault on the senses. The album also featured a scorching cover of the Ministry song “You Know What You Are.” Psyclon Nine hit their mark with INRI. With a devote hardcore fan base under their control, the band unleashed their next wave of sonic battery in 2006. Crwn Thy Frnicatr featured eleven skin crawling tracks of dark omniscient beats overlaid with haunting melodies and screaming whisper-like vocals. The album builds with the tormenting opener “Bellum In Abyssus” and continues its horrific attack with tracks such as “Parasitic,” “Better Than Suicide,” and “Crwn Thy Frnicatr” before the cleansing final track “The Purging.” Over the course of their previous albums, Psyclon Nine has continued to evolve into its own sound, implementing elements of black metal, post-punk influences, metal, and industrial. Now, after three years of silence, Psyclon Nine return in 2009 with We The Fallen, its darkest, most aggressive album to date.
